Sultanpur National Park is located in Gurgaon District, Haryana, India, located 15 km from Gurgaon, Haryana.

Sultanpur is a popular destination for tourists, bird-watchers and local visitors.
Sultanpur was the center of salt production for use in Delhi and the United Provinces till the late 19th century exporting annually 250000 quintals (680000 maunds) over the Rajputana-Malwa Railway.

Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary has guest house facilities for ornithologists, hideouts, watch towers, bird museum and even binoculars for hire. This bird sanctuary of Haryana is a find of the famous ornithologist Peter Jackson.

Sultanpur is scenic, well managed and easily accessible. It does attract noisy holiday crowds and that somehow impacts the overall experience.


Resident birds include the Common hoopoe, Paddyfield pipit, Purple sunbird, Little cormorant, Indian Cormorant, Common Spoonbill, Gray Francolin, Black francolin, Indian roller, White-throated kingfisher, Spotbill, Painted stork, Black-necked stork, White ibis, Black-headed ibis, Little egret, Great egret, Cattle egret, Crested lark, Red-vented bulbul, Rose-ringed parakeet, Red-wattled lapwing, Shikra, Eurasian collared dove, Red-collared dove, Laughing dove, Spotted owlet, Rock pigeon, Magpie robin, Greater coucal, Weaver bird, Bank Mynah, Common Mynah and Green Bee-eater.
How to reach: Sultanpur is easily accessed from Gurgaon city and is a bare 30 minute drive on the road to Farrukhnagar.

Sultanpur has a Tourist complex ( Rosy Pelican) where you can catch a quick bite or stay over.

Best time: The winter months (October to February). Early mornings (7.30 am) and late evenings (4.30 pm onwards) are the best time (s) of the day.
